About Atlantis Granite and Quartz
Our Pedigree
Atlantis Granite and Quartz is proud of its dedication to top-quality materials, fabrication and service. We will work with you to provide exactly what you envision for your new build or remodeling project.
We use top-of-the-line Poseidon fabrication machinery, including high precision bridge saws and edge polishers, all proudly manufactured in the United States.
The fabrication process depends on whether the product is a natural slab-stone such as quartzite or granite, or a manufactured surface like quartz or porcelain.
Natural stone is mined from quarries in huge blocks. The blocks are then transported to the factory, where they are cut into slices, called slabs, with specialized cutting tools, and polished for a smooth, attractive surface.
For engineered products, the materials used are crushed raw natural quartz mixed with polyester resins and pigments, then formed into slabs by being compacted under great pressure, with the result being a less porous material with greater water resistance. The slab is then cured in a kiln, with the intense heat further enhancing stain-resistance properties. The final step is polishing and cooling, and the edges are trimmed. Quality-control assures slabs of matching color and structure.
When a client desires a product, their project is carefully measured and mapped out to assure a perfect fit.
In all cases, the slabs are carefully stored in a convenient place where the customer then visits to examine and select their preferred color and grain. That slab is then marked and will be the exact piece used for the project, finally cut to the desired shape and size to fit into the customer’s design.
Whether your preference is natural or engineered stone, you know you will be getting the best from Atlantis.
